Five Questions with Ron Harmon
What caused you to fall in love with music?
It wasn't really a song or a band for me. The thing that inspired me the most was when my dad bought me my own guitar. He always had one I liked to mess with, when I got my own it was like the best thing that ever happened to me. The next would be when my friends invited me into their band, I was in 7th or 8th grade and we were horrible, but there was a life changing marriage between me and music.
What is your favorite song of all-time?
I would have to go with an artist on this one: Jennifer Knapp. As a songwriter and performer, I can feel so much into her stuff. She helps me relate to myself and to God better.
What has been your biggest musical moment?
The coolest moment I ever had may be simple to most, but it was when Bart Rose (Fort Worth Studios) mastered my "Things I Don't Talk About" album. His comments to me and the overall quality of the finished product really made me feel satisfied as an artist.
Name four musicians/songwriters you'd like to meet and jam with
I'll go with any of the big names; Mostly, I'd like to meet Jennifer Knapp, Steven Curtis Chapman, Toby Mac, and Eric Clapton.
What is your most treasured piece of musical equipment or memorabilia?
"Things" to me are expendable. I would have to say my songs themselves are the most valuable things to me as I birth them, raise & nurture them.
At present, Ron is playing music in area venues as an acoustic soloist and working on an acoustic album to demo Christian Contemporary songs for plugging.
